Applications
Features
Using the VAP300 overcomes previous difficulties of analyzing samples deposited on membrane filters. The recommended filter technique is by NIOSH Method 7400, 7402, or OSHA ID160 (which is an extremely detailed version of the NIOSH Methods). Unfortunately the boiling of acetone requires a fume hood. By incorporating the VAP300 Acetone Vaporizer technique, suggested by OSHA and NIOSH, filter clarification can be accomplished with only 250 microliters of acetone per filter. The VAP300 also has a post clarification heating area to speed the application of the triacetin and cover slip. This, our third design in this series of these instruments, incorporates several improvements, in response to customer requirements. The support stage for the slide is now incorporated into the instrument and is no longer a separate item. The secondary heated plate, for drying, now constitutes the intergral top surface of the instrument. Powder coating technology is used on the exterior surfaces, which has proven not to be affected by acetone liquid or vapor.
